Futsal Referee Registration
Essex County Youth Futsal (ECYFL) uses USSF Futsal certified referees for all games and assigns 2 referees per game.
ECYFL also assigns referees for the Middlesex-Essex Futsal League (MEFL).
Who
Current USSF Futsal certified referees. Newly certified (2025) referees are eligible to work games in 2024.
When
ECYFL games are scheduled on Sundays 12-9PM and Tuesdays 6-9PM at the Pingree school.
MEFL games are scheduled Saturday afternoon/evening at Reading Memorial High School.
Our seasons run from 11/12/2024 though 3/10/2025 with games weekly.

Games/Pay
Referees are generally assigned at least a 2 game set, often more if available and desired.
Game pay for 2024/2025 starts at $30/game and increases with ECYFL/MEFL experience.
Additional stipends are provided to referees working with a new referee to train or games done by a single referee.
Reimbursement
ECYFL will reimburse the cost of certification/recertification courses to referees who work at least 2 games on 8 or more weeks.
Uniforms/Equipment
Referees are expected to work in full USSF style uniform (jersey/shorts/socks), current USSF Futsal patch, and have watch, whistle and cards.
The standard jersey is green but alternates may be required in some game situations.
Become a Futsal Referee!
You can become a certified futsal referee through courses provided by the Massachusetts State Referee Committee (MSRC)
The MSRC offers courses for new referees, outdoor referees adding futsal to their certifications, and recertifications for current futsal referees.
